Halfaouine: Child of the Terraces

In Halfaouine, a popular district of Tunis, the young Noura (played by the nephew of the director), is shared between several worlds: that of men, in the streets, that of women, which he can still share the hammam, despite puberty approaching, and that of his imagination, heavy fears of the passage to adult life. Boughedir paints a happy picture of Tunisian life and illustrates the subtle and complex relationships between men and women in Tunisia.
